How this calculator works

The EETech Commerce ROI calculator combines a few of your business numbers with research-backed engineer behavior benchmarks to model three specific revenue gaps and translate them into an estimated Year 1 ROI.

All fixed benchmarks come from the EETech Engineering Insights Research (EIR), a 9-year annual study of 3,000+ working electronics engineers co-published with the Electronic Components Industry Association (ECIA) at 95% statistical confidence.

  • 58% of engineers begin a part search on Google.
  • 87% require a datasheet directly on the product page.
  • 45% bounce if technical data is not available on-page.
  • 42% is the modelled fraction of organic search demand invisible to a typical electronics site (the “search invisibility” rate).

The three revenue gaps

Gap 1 — Search: digital × 0.42 × 0.25 (search-invisible share, captured at a conservative 25% SEO recovery rate).

Gap 2 — Convert: (new products × 5 design-in opps) × 0.87 × 0.45 × LTV (lifetime value of design-ins lost to datasheet friction). Annualised by dividing by 10.

Gap 3 — Velocity: new products × weeks delayed × (digital ÷ products ÷ 52) — the revenue forgone while new SKUs wait in the dev queue.

Year 1 ROI: ((total gap × 30% capture) − $111K) ÷ $111K.

Conservative assumptions

  • SEO capture rate is held at 25%, well below what most rebuilds achieve.
  • Overall recovery rate for Year 1 ROI is capped at 30%.
  • Design-in revenue is amortised over 10 years (LTV divisor).
  • The $111K Year 1 investment includes the standard EETech Commerce platform fee plus one-time onboarding.
